About

Welcome to The Great Wide Somewhere, I am so glad you stopped by!

I am a (late) twenty-something gal planning a Working Holiday in the United Kingdom starting Fall 2014. I have never been on a plane before, never been out of North America but I am planning on moving to England and possibly staying there for a year or more! Crazy? Maybe. But I am sure that it’ll be an adventure worth remembering and I am looking forward to letting you all share in my adventure through this blog.

Since you’ve made your way to this “About” page, I’m sure you’re interested in know what types of topics you’ll find here at The Great Wide Somewhere. Since this my intent is for this to be a travel type blog, I plan on posting travel related articles. <Yes, yes, I know, that response is both annoying and not at all helpful.>

I’ll write about why I want to travel, the places I want to see, the process of applying for a Working Holiday Visa and all of the various planning stages I go through (and many of the lists I come up with I’m sure). I’ll write about the websites I visit and the tips and tricks that I find along the way. I’ll let you know which sites I find to be the most helpful and, once I’m actually travelling, which tips and tricks were the most helpful and any additional ones I discover on while I’m there that I think might help you out. Basically I am going to write about anything that comes up during the planning stages of the trip and then, once the trip is underway, i will continue to write about all of the places I see and the adventures I have as a Canadian working, living and travelling in the U.K.

I can’t guarantee that I’m going to succeed in posting content regularly (I haven’t quite mastered that aspect of blogging), but I’m going to try!

Life’s and Adventure!
